Sequence of events
Cyclists were riding in front of a transit bus. After one cyclist moved onto the cycle path, the second cyclist continued to ride along the road ahead of the bus. The cyclist then stopped suddenly on the road in order to lift his bicycle onto the cycle path on the right. The bus braked hard. During this braking maneuver, an 87-year-old woman on the bus was injured when her head struck the partition wall behind the driver. The woman was taken to hospital, where she later died of her head injuries.
